The Four Winged Beast

This is one of the oldest of supernatural creatures. It drifts through the forests invisible to all and where it sleeps during the day within 48 hours a caustic, poisonous plant will sprout from the ground with auburn, waxy leaves and dry, brittle berries. This plant will almost definitely kill whomever eats it, but the rare few may gain unnatural abilities and become feral, spiritually attuned monsters themselves. The fumes of the burnt leaves act as a hallucinogen allowing one to communicate with the beast.

The beast and its female sibling have held a grudge against one another since their conception. Long ago in an effort to satiate eachother, they sacrificed a part of themselves to be given to the world at large. These parts of their spirits seeded two lineages of supernatural creatures that exists to this day.
